All Types of Play

Linked below are pages to give you a taste of some of the things you can expect to do when you come play! We have so many ideas it's hard to choose what to build next, or set out but we'll be consistently swapping activities and equipment throughout the year so you'll never know what you'll find. We want kids to continue to have new learning and play experiences, and be eager to come back and see what's changed!

Play!

Why is play such an important part of childhood? Why should we make time to let our children have unstructured play time?

Play is critical to the development of children. They are not merely entertaining themselves, but doing important work.

From the NAEYC article 10 Things Every Parent Should Know About Play, when children play, they learn and develop:

cognitive skills – like math and problem solving in a pretend grocery store
physical abilities – like balancing blocks and running on the playground
new vocabulary – like the words they need to play with toy dinosaurs
social skills – like playing together in a pretend car wash
literacy skills – like creating a menu for a pretend restaurant

The spontaneous, unstructured play we aim to facilitate will also foster physical and mental health, and create countless joyful moments and wonderful memories!!
